MANILA PORT INFORMATION
- There are 4 terminals : North Harbor, MICT, South Harbor & Harbor Center
North Harbor : 6 finger pier & 3 wharves for domestic vsl, draft 5-6m
MICT : container vsl terminal, 5 berths, draft 12.5-14.5m
South Harbor(ATI) : general cargo & container vsl terminal, 5 finger pier,
draft 6.6-10.5m
Harbor Center : general cargo, 4 marginal berth, draft 9.0 - 11.5m
- South Harbor (ATI) details
1. 5 finger piers
P3 : for container vsl only, 5 berths
P5 : for container & gen cargo vsl, 7 berths
P9 : for gen cargo vsl, 5 berths, draft 6.6m-8.7m
P13 : for gen cargo vsl, 5 berths, draft 6.5-9.0m
P15 : for domestic passenger ferry, 5 berths, draft 9.3-10.5m
remarks : A.P5-B4 (draft 10.5m) is not allowed to gen cgo vsl since early 2000
due to congested container vsl
B. P13 accept direct-to-truck cargo or roro cargo only due to weak
pier structure.
C. P15 currently available only 2 berths (B1&B2). B3 be available
from November 2000 after repair
2. anchorage (IBW) : 11 berths, 7.0-11.5m
A01-03 : for deep draft vsl(10.5-11.5m), 24hr dock/undock
A04-11 : No nighttime dock/undock. draft 7.0-10m
3. draft limitation at entrance channel is 11.0m but we had an record to pass
the channel with 12.2m draft during high tide in 1999
4. vsl over 11.5m draft to be lightened at OBW(Outside Break Water) anchorage,
but most of receivers and barge companies reluctant to receive their cargo at
OBW due to rough sea and long distance to travel from their barge pool.
Production is less than half of IBW operation.
5. Stevedore
5-1. 3 labor unions contracted with ATI : on-board labor, on-board equipment
labor, and dockside labor
5-2. work 24 hrs. 2 shift (0700H & 1900H)
5-3. additional (fresh) gang availabe at 1300H.
5-4. gang order to be 2 hrs before shift
5-5. productivity per gang/shift (CQD)
Bags (50kgs) : 4,000 bags or 140 - 200mt
Bulk cargo : 400mt
Gen.Cargo : 150 - 200mt
Wire Rod(0.5kg), Tin Plate, Chennel, H-Beam : 400mt
Wire Rod(1.0kg), Billet, HRC/CRC, St'l Plate: 650mt

Floating Crane Barge
less than 10T - min 10 hr : 3,636.48/hr
10-70T - min 4 hr : 76,301.14
10-39T - succeeding: 18,800/hr
40-70T - succeeding: 21,150/hr
rigging/re-rigging (40-70T): 37,600
barging/standby : 2,776.32/hr
(FCB from Malayan Tug : P80,000 first 4 hrs + P20,000/succeding hr
P75,000 for mob/demob)
5-7. deposit 130% of basic stevedore charge before vsl arrival. 30% is for
standby charges and for equipment rental and actual cost to be settled after vsl
departure.
6. Phil. Port Authority(PPA) not allow over 15T forklift to enter the pier.
cargo over 10T/pc to be direct to truck and Dumping permit is required by PPA
without fee.
7. PPA require 2 tugboats for docking/undocking over 5,000 GRT. Sometimes Pilot
use one tug in return of some amount of hazardous fee.
8. Port Dues (as of year 2000) : USD0.081 x GRT
Dockage Fee : pier USD0.039 x GRT x days port stay
anch USD0.020 x GRT x days port stay
9. Wharfage : P36.66/rt. cnee's account
if anch operation, 50% discount.
